Personal Statement

Patricia Olson is currently an adult neurology resident at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in the Department of Neurology. Her academic career started at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honors in Biology. She then attended graduate school in Chicago, Illinois at Northwestern University Institute for Neuroscience where she applied electrophysiological techniques to study dopamine modulation in the basal ganglia, earning a Ph.D. in Neuroscience. In an effort to continue her education and work toward becoming a physician-scientist, she returned to Indiana to attend Indiana University School of Medicine to earn an MD before matching at UK.
