Course Descriptions

  • Child Neurology Grand Rounds:  Weekly conference where trainees present an interesting case from the previous week's inpatient service.  The group discusses current literature, treatment, and affords an opportunity to review complex cases in a teaching all child neurology faculty physicians. 
  • EEG Conference:  Case presentation conferences. Focus is reading EEGs, epilepsy management, and other related topics.
  • Electro-clinical Epilepsy Conference: Weekly conference where clinical cases will be presented after reviewing seizure semiology, EEG, imaging and pathology of patients who underwent epilepsy surgery. 
  • Epilepsy Quality and Safety Committee Meeting: Monthly multidisciplinary meeting which addresses clinical issues and is geared towards quality and safety of the service delivered in the EMU. 
  • Grand Rounds:  Weekly departmental conference featuring timely clinical and translational neuroscience presentations by faculty and invited guest speakers. 
  • Interesting Case Conference: Monthly case presentation conference. Focus on interesting or tough cases (outpatient or inpatient). 
  • Journal Club Conference:  Monthly. Critical analysis of current literature. Presented by trainees. 
  • Movement Disorder (Video) Conference: Monthly case presentation conference. Focus on recognizing different movement disorders. 
  • Neuroimaging Conference: Film presentations and discussion.
  • Refractory Epilepsy Conference:  Bi-monthly multidisciplinary conference. Potential candidates for epilepsy surgery will be presented for surgery planning after completion of their work up. 
  • SWARM: Unit level and hospital level.
