The Vascular Neurology Fellowship is a one year clinical training fellowship. During the course of the year, the fellow will gain advanced training and experience in the acute treatment of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, primary and secondary prevention of cerebrovascular disease, neurosonology, and neuroradiology. In addition, the fellow will have clinical rotations in neurocritical care and interventional neuroradiology, as well as non-clinical research rotations. The University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Medical Center is a Joint Commission certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, maintaining the busiest stroke service in the state, with an estimated 1,200 stroke discharges per year. We are also a part of the Neurological Emergency Treatment Trials (NETT) Network. Our vascular neurology fellowship is designed to prepare the fellow for qualification for board certification in vascular neurology.
